What we collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Email address used for magic-link sign-in, Google sign-in, or updates.
- Basic Google account profile fields returned during sign-in, such as name, email, picture, and provider ID.
- Subjects you choose to save to your Astroze account, including birth date, time, location, and related chart settings.
- Support messages you send through our contact form.
- Anonymous usage data, such as visited pages, broad device and browser details, approximate region, performance signals, and selected product actions.
- Operational logs needed to secure the service, diagnose errors, and keep the product stable.
What we do not collect by default
- You can browse major Astroze features without creating an account.
- Guest exploration of public subjects does not require a personal profile.
- We do not sell your personal data.
How we use data
- Authenticate you and keep your session active.
- Save and sync your own subjects across devices.
- Respond to support requests and account issues.
- Protect the service against abuse and investigate production errors.
- Understand where people complete or leave important product workflows so we can improve them.
- Send product-related communication tied to authentication or support.
Analytics and session insights
We use self-hosted Umami and Microsoft Clarity to understand anonymous traffic, feature use,
interaction patterns, heatmaps, and product friction. Umami does not use analytics cookies.
Clarity is configured without analytics cookies and with strict text masking, so page text and
form content are masked in recordings.
Our custom analytics events use fixed product labels. They do not include subject names, birth
details, email addresses, free-text questions, or account IDs. Microsoft processes Clarity data
under its Privacy Statement.
Google sign-in
If you choose Google sign-in, Astroze receives only the profile information required to identify
your account and create or restore your Astroze session. We do not request access to your Google
Drive, Gmail, Calendar, contacts, or other Google data.
Cookies and sessions
Astroze uses secure session cookies and related authentication tokens so you can stay signed in and
access your saved subjects. These are used for account functionality and security. Umami does not
set analytics cookies, and cookies are disabled for the Astroze Clarity project.
Retention
We keep account data while your account remains active or as needed to provide the service, meet
legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms.
